About this section
In this section, you can add localizations (translations) for your release. For example, you can make it so that users in Spain see the release title as "Océano", while users in the U.S. see it as "Ocean".
Please note that not all music services support translations. In such cases, the original release and track titles will be shown in stores.
The number of available localizations is limited to the number of supported languages.
To add a localization, click the "Append locale" button, select the language you want from the list, then click “Add selected”. A new form with three tabs will appear in the workspace.
You don’t have to fill out every field on the tabs.
For example, you can translate only the artist name and leave the release and the track titles fields blank. In that case, users from that region will see the artist name in their language, but release and track titles will remain as originally entered in the “Main information” and “Tracks” sections.
Editing Localization
Main release info
This tab contains just two fields.
Release title
Use this field to enter the translated name of your release in the selected language. Only enter the release title — without artist names or album version.
Album version
Here you can enter the translated title of the album version. For example, if in the “Main information” section you originally specified the album version as “fast version,” you can translate it here for Spanish users as “versión rápida”. If you leave this field blank (as with other fields in this section), users in Spain will see the original “fast version”.
Track titles
On this tab, the rows correspond to your tracks. They appear in the same order as in the “Tracks” section, and even before you click into a field, you’ll see hints — track numbers and original titles.
In "Track remix" field you can enter the translated title of the track remix. For example, if in the “Tracks” section you originally specified the track remix as “fast version,” you can translate it here for Spanish users as “versión rápida”. If you leave this field blank (as with other fields in this section), users in Spain will see the original “fast version”.
Artist names
Here you can provide translated names of artists (performers and contributors). If you leave these fields blank, the system will use the original names you previously entered.
Please note
If you're targeting an international audience, we recommend filling out this section rather than creating separate clones of the release in different languages.
Filling out this section takes much less time than duplicating the release for multiple languages.
Also, if you provide translated artist names here, users from other countries who click on your localized name in stores will be taken to your original artist profile, not a separate one. But if you create a clone release in another language and add a renamed artist instead of localizing, the platforms will treat them as two different artists.
