About this section

This is the final step of creating your release. Here you’ll need to review the results of the automated check, and if everything is in order, submit your release for moderation. Once approved, we’ll either send it to stores or return it to you for corrections.

Auto-check results

Depending on whether your release is filled out correctly, you may see one of three auto-check outcomes:

No issues

This status means your release is complete and correctly filled out. All that’s left is to click “Sign for publication” button. As a result, your release will be delivered to stores on the date you specified.

Possible non-critical errors

This status means the release is generally filled out correctly, but there are some issues that may result in delays or limited availability on certain shops. In some cases, our moderators may return the release for revision. The “Submit for distribution” button is available — click it if you’re sure that the listed issues are insignificant or not actually mistakes, and you want to proceed.

For example, if you enter “John and Alex” in the “Primary artist” field, you’ll see a non-critical error warning here. This happens because that field is meant for a single artist only, and our system may automatically detect such entries as potential mistakes. If “John and Alex” is your actual artist (band) name, the release will be accepted for distribution. But if you simply typed two separate artists with “and” in between, and it’s not the name of a music band, you’ll need to go back and list John and Alex in separate fields.

Critical errors

This status means there are errors in your release setup that prevent it from being submitted for review or sent to stores. In the release editor, you can find the problematic sections marked with red exclamation icons in the left-hand menu. You’ll need to visit each of these sections and fix the issues. Once done, return to this final step and click the “Submit for distribution” button that appears.

Signing the release

If you see the label “No issues found” or “Possible non-critical errors” and you believe the release is ready for delivery, please click the “Submit for distribution” button located under the auto-check results.

The release will then be sent to our moderation team. If it passes the review, it will be delivered to the selected stores. If we find any issues, the release will be returned to you for revision, and you’ll need to correct the problems and resubmit it the same way.

Please do not resubmit returned releases without addressing the comments.

What’s next

You can now start working on a new release and also keep track of the status of this one. Once you click “Submit for distribution”, your release will get the “Submitted” status. If it passes moderation successfully, the status will change to “Finalized”. If it doesn’t, it will show as “Admin declined”. You’ll be able to review any admin comments directly in the same section. You can also read more about other possible release statuses here.

Your release is ready!
