Primary and Display artist
Primary Artists is one or more artists who participate in the creation of the entire release. If you are releasing a collaborative album and want the release to appear on all the artists pages (catalogues) in shops, list all the artists involved as primary artists.
Please note that each individual artist must be listed in a separate field.
Additionally, if you're interested in delivering to Apple Music (iTunes), you'll need to specify roles for each artist on each track. This is a mandatory requirement of the store.
You don't have to specify artist roles at the release level - just specify them at the track level. However, if your release has several tracks, and the artists have the same roles on each of them, you can specify roles at the album level and then use the “Copy artists and contributors to tracks” button to save time.
Display Artist is a field that indicates how the performer will be displayed in stores. This field is generated automatically based on the primary artists you specified.
If you wish to feature an artist on a track as a guest (feat), this should be done in the contributors field group.
